Thanks for helping me find the Italy Cloth! I met a Korean woman on my first visit to bathhouse in San Francisco. She showed me hers and taught me how to scrub. Only problem was that the best I could make out her call it (after getting her to repeat it many times) was a Teri Cloth. I searched for it without luck, till now :)

What do you think: How frequently do you think it is OK to scrub your skin like this?

I LOVE these Korean Italy towels. They are amazing. My Korean roommate gave me one of the mitts for my bday and I have been obsessed with it ever since. If you live in the US, they can be found at Korean grocery stores - like H-Mart or other Asian stores and also on ebay. I typically take a very hot shower and just stand in the water for a couple minutes before I begin scrubbing and watching with gleeful disgust as my skin starts rolling off. I never use any soap or oil along with the mitt, just water. Also, the mitt will start to smell funky after a while which can be remedied by a toss in the washer machine. You can actually make your skin roll off in the same manner with just your fingers if you rub at your ankles and around your feet. This method doesn't work on the rest of the body tho'. Question: which is better, the mitt or the towel?

I would try soaking for a longer period of time and also in the hottest bath you can stand immediately before beginning to scrub. Generally, I try to scrub first with nothing (this tends to get more of the dead skin off), then maybe with some soap, but I've never tried oil -- it seems like that would make it harder, no? Good luck and happy exfoliation!

Ok, question for you.

We have a korean bathhouse in San Francisco that I am completely enamored of. I love the body scrub, but would like to be able to scrub my self so I can go more frequently... What do you use when you scrub with the Italy Towel? Soap? Oil? Nothing? I intend to purchase one but even the most vigorous scrub of myself with either gloves or a towel ("hard" version) bought at a japanese store I get no dead skin production. Any tips? (how gross is this, I am asking you for dead skin production tips!)
